Welcome to Our Kid's Ministry
We would love for your kids to come be part of our Verdigris First family!
We believe that no child is too young to be a force for good. We provide a safe, fun, and encouraging environment where kids can learn and grow in their faith. Our goal is to equip parents to disciple their children in the Lord and to also help them build a legacy of faith that lasts generations.
Join us on Sunday mornings at 9:45am for small groups, for kids church at the 11am service, and Wednesday night for AWANAS at 6:30pm!
Kid's Activities
Verdigris First Kids meets every Sunday morning during our 11:00 am worship service. Kid’s programming is available for children from 6 weeks old through 3rd grade.
Infants up to age three will be in our nursery and three years through 3rd grade will attend the worship portion of our main service, and then will be dismissed for children’s church.
We have a team of wonderful volunteers who will walk them to their class and care for them until they are picked up by parents or approved adults. Children will participate in both small and large group settings where they will explore God’s Word, engage in activities and games, and get to have fun!
Check-in for kids activities begins 15 minutes before each Sunday morning service.
Verdigris First Kids meets every Wednesday night from 6:30-7:30 PM in the Family Life Center and is from ages Pre-K through 5th grade. We explore a new topic in the Bible each week and help children to understand the deep things of God.
We also offer nursery for children under age 3.
Check-in begins 15 minutes prior to service.

1). Interview
All children’s ministry volunteers will have a one-on-one interview with our children’s director or a staff pastor. It’s not a big deal, we just want to get to know you and see where you want to serve!
2). Application and Background Check
All children’s ministry volunteers will fill out an application and undergo a criminal background check (minors excluded).
3). Hands-On Training
After the screening process, we will pair you with a seasoned volunteer for on-the-job training in the area of ministry you choose. You won’t be thrown in alone! Feel free to ask any questions you have along the way.
4). Evaluation
This is a time for you and for us to see if this role is the right fit for you, or if you want to try a different ministry role. We typically do 90-day follow-ups after a new volunteer starts, but if you want to try something new sooner than that, just let us know!
5). Welcome to the team!
Parent’s Day Out is a weekday preschool a Verdigris First. It is a two day/week program that runs from September through May from 9:00am to 2:30pm for ages 12 months to 4 years.
